Structure of Vacancy

As a Marketing graduate, you will spend 2 years gaining experience in both the Marketing and Sales teams in our consuming facing business.

Vacancy Description

At ICI Paints we have a number of opportunities for talented, motivated graduates in our UK Division within the Marketing Team. In the UK we have a number of the biggest brands in DIY and are brand leaders in most of the markets we compete in, our brands include Dulux (the UK’s number one paint brand), Glidden, Hammerite, Cuprinol and Polycell.

The Marketing teams develop and implement marketing strategies for the profitable sale of specific brands and ranges in both the b2b (Business 2 Business) and the b2c (Business 2 Consumer) environments. As a Marketing graduate you will be involved in driving decorative sales and innovation through effective marketing by understanding customer needs and the marketplace. Projects might include: new product launches; innovations, working with external communications agencies in all areas of brand communication; liaising with business managers, market research teams, sales teams and technical teams to explore opportunities and ensure the implementation of marketing plans; brand management; category management and key account management. These roles will give you the opportunity to make a real difference in driving the Paints business forward.

As a graduate joining the Marketing function, you will be given real responsibility for projects from day one. Additionally, you will have access to work alongside experts in the Marketing field which will give you an excellent basis to build your career in this function.

Your role will initially be based in ICI Paints Head Office in Slough, Berkshire, however, your development plan may require the need to travel across our UK, Ireland and potentially European Operations.

Specific Requirements

You will need to demonstrate strong commercial awareness and be confident and capable of building customer relationships. You will need to be goal driven and able to take ownership for delivering on your commitments.

Any degree discipline will be considered. Business-related would be an advantage and/or work experience within a commercial capacity.

To be considered for this role, you must have the permanent right to live and work within the EU. You must also have a full driving licence. You must have achieved or be expecting to achieve a minimum 2:1 degree (Equivalencies: NL: 7-10; GE: 1-2.5; FR: 12-20; SP: Distinction or above). You must also have achieved a minimum 22 UCAS points (NL: VWO 7-10; GE: Abitur 1-2.6; FR: Bac 12-20; SP: Bach 7-10) and speak fluent English.
