Structure of Vacancy

As a Customer Development Graduate at ICI, you will spend 2 years gaining experience in our Sales Team (working across at least one channel) as well as gaining an appreciation of Category Management & Marketing.

At ICI we want to take talented graduates and develop you into the Sales Managers/Directors of tomorrow, and can offer you opportunities under our European Graduate Development Programme that will challenge you to achieve that vision.

You will also participate in our World Class Sales Academy Training Programme, as well as the corresponding Marketing Academy. This doesn't mean simply plugging you into a generic training scheme, your individual programme will be unique, defined by your roles and supported by your ambition and motivation.

Vacancy Description

At ICI Paints we have a number of opportunities for talented, motivated graduates in our UK Division within the Sales Team. Within the UK, we have a number of the biggest brands in DIY and are brand leaders in all of the markets we compete in. Our brands include Dulux (the UK’s number one paint brand), Glidden, Hammerite, Cuprinol and Polycell.

The Sales Team is at the leading edge of our business, and is key to driving our future growth through delighting our customers with tailored solutions. Our Sales Team operates in a dynamic environment dealing with some of the UK’s largest retailers and therefore each day will be exciting and varied.

As a Customer Development Graduate, you will gain experience across a number of functional areas within our Sales Team, including, account management, category management, sales operations, as well a placement in our consumer marketing team.

In our graduate scheme, you will be given real responsibility from day one and the opportunity to make a difference to the ICI Paints business, with involvement in accounts which vary from the top retail names to strategic regional retailers, & local high street retailers.

You will be responsible for developing successful long-term customer relationships, with your own key contacts. You will have the scope to challenge the business and deliver creative solutions to exceed our customer’s expectations. To be successful in your role you will need to work across our commercial team, and develop your network cross functionally with our colleagues in Supply Chain, Finance and Marketing.

Your role will initially be based in ICI Paints Head Office in Slough, Berkshire, however, your development plan will require the need to travel across our UK and Ireland Operations.

Specific Requirements

You will need to demonstrate strong commercial awareness and be confident and capable of building customer relationships. You will need to be goal driven and able to take ownership for delivering on your commitments.

Any degree discipline will be considered, however, a business-related degree would be an advantage.

We are looking for individuals with work or placement/internship experience in a commercial capacity with a strong desire to develop a career in the Sales environment.

To be considered for this role, you must have the permanent right to live and work within the EU. You must also have a full driving licence. You must have achieved or be expecting to achieve a minimum 2:1 degree (Equivalencies: NL: 7-10; GE: 1-2.5; FR: 12-20; SP: Distinction or above). You must also have achieved a minimum 22 (280) UCAS points (NL: VWO 7-10; GE: Abitur 1-2.6; FR: Bac 12-20; SP: Bach 7-10) and speak fluent English
